The main dining room at High West Distillery

Utah’s first “legal” distillery since the 1870’s, High West honors the state’s surprisingly rich distilling history. The restaurant, saloon and distillery is housed in a restored historic stable and victorian home. The painstaking renovation was done impeccably and maintains the original integrity and feel of each structure while adding modern touches. A glass hallway connects the two buildings and showcases the 250-gallon copper pot still where spirits are distilled. High West makes award winning whiskey and vodka which can be purchased on sight or sampled in a host of delicious craft cocktails. Be sure to try the Whiskey Smash, a Mint Julep with muddled lemon. The Western inspired menu is heavy on game but we thought everything from the bourbon glazed cod to the bison burger was delicious. If you’re in Park City during ski season-go early or late. Waits can be as long as 2 hours. You can always pop in for a drink at the bar. High West does except reservations.
