Outside Eugene’s Le Bar

Stepping into this brightly paneled cafe is like being transported to Paris (for a lot less money). Le Bar— the new restaurant attached to Eugene’s renowned Marche, gets the Parisian themed decor right with a warm color palette, tiled floor, and comfy booths. The space is anchored by a horsehoe shaped bar, where you can watch bartenders mixing smart aperitifs and shucking fresh Northwest oysters. I loved it so much I ate there twice on a recent trip to Eugene. Our party couldn’t get enough of the steak tartare and oysters with a perfectly mixed mignonette. The famous “Marche Burger” is also available and I love the aperitif option which pairs a glass of rose or champagne with a small bite. Man, why wasn’t this place in Eugene when I lived there 5 years ago?
